The moonflower, or Ipomoea alba, blooms at night and has a heavenly light scent.  This one is actually growing in a container on Kim's deck.

Salvia greggii 'Furman's Red' is the hardest-working perennial in the garden.  It started blooming in spring and hasn't stopped -- and the hummingbirds love it!

Perennial verbena -- another flower that takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

These tall asters are just as striking as the shorter variety, although they do require staking.

This Aster novae-angliae 'Purple Dome' is at its most beautiful now.

Penstemon mexicale 'Red Rocks' is still blooming strong -- another outstanding performer in Kim's garden this season.
