Crestwood gardener Sue Bellows met the challenge of her wet backyard shade garden with a variety of plants, including ferns, hosta, ligularia, liriope, brunnera, and itea.

Itea is a great shrub selection if you have a wet, shady area. You can see a white astilbe peeking out -- it also loves wet, shady areas.

The unusual foliage on this Japanese painted fern makes this a nice specimen plant.
