'Golden Crane' Hydrangea Hydrangea angustipetala 'MonLongShou' |
An exciting addition to American gardens, this precocious Hydrangea, with large lacecaps of white and chartreuse not only presents its flowers in late spring - the earliest of all Hydrangeas to blossom -- but is highly scented, a trait very rare in Hydrangeas as a whole. The jasmine-like scent will perfume 100 feet around. This superb selection was made by Dan Hinkley from seed collected in Southern Sichuan Province, China.
Prefers part shade. After plant is established requires weekly watering, or more times a week in extreme heat.
Requires evenly moist soils. Long blooming due to it blooming on old and new growth. For best spring display of flowers do not prune after early September. Grows 5' tall and wide. |
