Jovibarba

 

JEFFERSONIA, Twinleaf.  Part to full shade.  Likes moist, woodland soil.  US native. 

diphylla named in honor of Thomas Jefferson, third president of the US.  Charming white flowers in early spring are followed by unique seed pods that resembles a little hooded pouch.  A great foliage plant with its attractive double leaf structure.  18”. 

 

JOVIBARBA hirta subsp. arenaria.  Among the tiniest of the Hen and Chicks.  Small thick leaved plants that form interesting rosettesonly 1/4” to 3/4” across.  Needs full sun and dry conditions.  Perfect for rock gardens, trough gardens.  Low growing.
